When you?re dealing with a secret as big as an OTP show wedding, it can be hard to take it from flower arrangements to cutting cake without someone leaking a little bit of intel to the paparazzi. Well, Gossip Girl showrunners had BOTH of their series finale weddings photographed and whispered about all over the Internet way before any official info was released.
And we weren?t the only ones bummed to know things we would rather have been a surprise ? executive producer Stephanie Savage was right there with us. ?The Chuck and Blair wedding, we knew as soon as we stepped outside, it would be captured by the paparazzi,? Stephanie tells E! Online. Well, yeah. When you shoot Chair in full-on wedding outfits in CENTRAL PARK, it goes without saying that fans and paparazzi will capture it.
But as for Serena (Blake Lively)?s townhouse flash-forward wedding to Gossip Girl Dan (Penn Badgley), that was less of a given. ?Dan and Serena, that was really disappointing and upsetting. We worked really hard to dress Blake inside, she kept away from the windows. It was a locked set. But somebody either paid someone to get into the apartment across the street, or used a fire escape and used a telephoto lens, and that really upset me because I didn't want anyone to know. I wanted that to be a surprise for fans,? Stephanie says of the giveaway.
As much as we love a good spoiler, there?s nothing quite as thrilling as the shiver of surprise when a wish becomes reality. Thoughts?
