Daniel Day-Lewis stars as the 16th president during his final months in office. Sally Field, David Strathairn, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, James Spader and Tommy Lee Jones round out the supporting cast. Can you say ?Oscars all over the place?? (PG-13) Four plus stars!

Life of Pi ***1/2
After deciding to sell their zoo in India and move to Canada, Santosh and Gita Patel board a freighter with their sons and a few remaining animals. Tragedy strikes when a terrible storm sinks the ship, leaving the Patels? teenage son, Pi (Suraj Sharma), as the only human survivor. However, Pi is not alone; a fearsome Bengal tiger has also found refuge aboard the lifeboat. As days turn into weeks and weeks drag into months, Pi and the tiger must learn to trust each other if both are to survive. (PG) ?125 minutes. Three and a half stars

Silver Linings Playbook ***1/2
David O. Russell (The Fighter, Three Kings) directs this drama about a former schoolteacher (Bradley Cooper) who tries to move on with his life after a stint in a mental institution. Robert De Niro plays his dad, Julia Stiles is his ex-wife and Jennifer Lawrence is a mysterious girl who changes everything. (R) Three and a half stars

The Sessions ***1/2
John Hawkes is sensational as a man who was left paralyzed from the neck down by a childhood bout of polio. Helen Hunt is the sexual surrogate he hires to help him explore his sexuality. Funnier than it sounds, although that doesn?t mean you won?t shed a few tears. (R) ?Three and a half stars

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn ? Part 2: **1/2
The astonishing conclusion to the series illuminates the secrets and mysteries of this spellbinding romantic epic that has entranced millions. Why is the werewolf Jacob (Taylor Lautner) so fascinated by their infant daughter? And what will happen when the legion of elder vampires known as the Voltari come to claim the couple?s baby? Bill Condon, who directed the previous film, returns for the final installment in the record-setting franchise. (NR) 116 minutes. Two and a half stars?

SkyFall ***1/2
James Bond?s loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost. The 007 series takes a huge leap in quality under the director of Sam Mendes (American Beauty, The Road to Perdition), who pays as much attention to characters as he does to enormous action set pieces. Daniel Craig and Judi Dench return as the playboy-secret agent and his by-the-book boss. Javier Bardem joins the ranks of all-time best Bond villains as man with a curious sense of humor who has a personal beef against the hero. Roger Deakins? exceptional cinematography easily makes this the best-looking Bond of all.
